The USPTO has appealed to the Supreme Court to allow it to control immoral and scandalous trade mark registrations. Review and reversal of In re Brunetti seems unlikely because a similar issue was addressed in Tam
The USPTO filed a petition for cert on September 7, asking
the Supreme Court to reverse the Federal Circuit’s
2017 In re Brunetti decision, which found that the "immoral and
scandalous" provision of Section 2(a) of the Lanham Act
